Visiting 12 Eupmyeon Senior Centers to Check Health, Well-being, and Listen to Concerns

On the 25th, Mayor Lee began his visits at Deokjin Senior Center in Daejeon-myeon and continued to visit senior centers in 12 towns and townships, delivering New Year's greetings and checking on the elderly who are struggling with the rapidly dropping temperatures.
He then explained the core policy task of the 8th local government administration, Hyangchon Welfare, and took time to listen to the difficulties faced by the elderly.
The county has set 'Hyangchon Welfare' as a core policy task for the 8th local government administration and established the 'Damyang-type Integrated Care Mid-term Plan.'
To this end, over four years, a project budget of 74.1 billion KRW will be invested to reinforce the functions of senior centers and nursing facilities, strengthen medical services at health clinics, and support the elderly to live healthy and comfortable lives in their hometowns.
Additionally, the county plans to expand senior job programs to help the elderly achieve economic independence and operate various programs at senior centers.
Mayor Lee Byeongno said, “We will actively reflect the diverse opinions and difficulties of the elderly in county administration,” adding, “In the 8th local government administration, we will complete Hyangchon Welfare so that everyone can spend a comfortable and healthy old age in their hometown.”
