Boseong-gun Achieves 'Grade 1' in Public Institution Integrity Evaluation

2 Consecutive Years Ranked 1st in Jeollanam-do Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation

[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it was selected as a ‘Comprehensive Integrity Level 1’ institution, the highest grade, in the ‘2022 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity’ evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.


In 2018, Boseong-gun’s comprehensive integrity level was grade 4, but with the launch of the 7th local government, it improved to grade 3 in 2019, grade 2 in 2020, ranked first in Jeollanam-do in 2021, and this year, with the full start of the 8th local government, it achieved the comprehensive integrity level 1, the only one in Honam.

According to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission’s integrity evaluation announcement, Boseong-gun scored ▲External Integrity (8 items) 91.1 points ▲Internal Integrity (9 items) 64.2 points ▲Integrity Policy Implementation (8 items) 85.1 points ▲No deductions for Corruption Cases and Trust Deterioration (3 items) ▲Comprehensive Integrity (28 items) total 83.9 points, which is 2.7 points higher than the average of all institutions. It is also 9.5 points higher than the average for basic local governments at the county level.


Boseong-gun received consistently high scores in all areas including integrity level, internal integrity analysis, and external integrity analysis.


It is noteworthy that there were no deductions in corruption cases and trust deterioration indices.


Boseong-gun maintained a high rank of grade 2 in comprehensive integrity for the past two years and achieved grade 1 for the first time this year with the 8th local government.


Kim Cheol-woo, Mayor of Boseong-gun, said, “I am deeply moved to have secured the integrity level 1 and thank the citizens and staff who worked together. We will continue to accelerate efforts to build a clean Boseong and firmly maintain the level 1.”


Meanwhile, Boseong-gun has established special measures to create a clean public service culture and has focused on compliance with the Anti-Graft Act, the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, and other public ethics, conducting employee education.
