Last Year's Sales Revenue of 17.2347 Trillion Won 'Annual Record High'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Samsung SDS surpassed 1 trillion KRW in sales in its cloud business last year, achieving its highest annual performance.

On the 26th, Samsung SDS announced that it recorded sales of 17.2347 trillion KRW and an operating profit of 916.1 billion KRW last year. Sales grew 26% compared to the previous year, achieving the highest annual performance. In the fourth quarter, sales amounted to 4.25 trillion KRW, and operating profit was 187.5 billion KRW.

In the cloud business, annual sales reached 1.1627 trillion KRW. The Cloud Service Provider (CSP) business based on Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP) and the Managed Service Provider (MSP) business focused on app modernization both showed balanced growth. IT service business sales grew 5.9% year-on-year to 5.9682 trillion KRW. Logistics business sales increased by 41% to 11.2666 trillion KRW.

Samsung SDS plans to actively promote its global business this year, focusing on ‘cloud’ and ‘digital logistics’ despite the ongoing economic downturn. In the IT service business, various products will be added to SCP, and the cloud business will expand global regions. In the logistics business, service areas will be expanded to the US, Europe, and other regions centered on Cello Square.

On this day, Samsung SDS decided through a board resolution to increase dividends by 33% from 2,400 KRW per share last year to 3,200 KRW. It also announced a dividend policy to maintain a payout ratio of around 30% for three years from 2022 to 2024.
