Same-Day Round Reservations Highest Among 40s · Sunday Preferred
Golf reservation platform XGOLF announced on the 26th that the average green fee at golf courses in the Seoul metropolitan area was the highest at 200,672 KRW, based on an analysis of golf usage by users of the company’s platform last year.
The region with the second highest green fee after the metropolitan area was Jeju Island, recording an average of 173,749 KRW. This was followed by Gangwon Province (168,578 KRW), Chungcheong Province (157,425 KRW), Jeolla Province (152,960 KRW), and Gyeongsang Province (146,235 KRW).
The same-day reservation rate for rounds played on the day was also highest in the metropolitan area at 61.8%. The next most popular regions for golfers making same-day rounds were Chungcheong Province (21.8%) and Gangwon Province (10.8%).
By gender, males accounted for 85.4% and females 14.6%. By day of the week, Sunday had the highest proportion of rounds played at 16.3%. The main age groups making reservations for rounds were people in their 40s (40.5%) in first place, followed by those in their 50s (39.3%) and 60s (9.8%).
Golf tour reservations, which include packages of rounds lasting two or more days and accommodations, were highest in Gangwon Province at 33.8%, followed by Chungcheong Province (23.6%) and Jeolla Province (16.4%), showing a high usage rate in regions adjacent to the metropolitan area. By gender, males accounted for 73.5%, and the day most golf tours were taken was Friday (18.7%), the day before a holiday. The main age group using golf tours was people in their 50s (48.7%).
