Gochang-gun Supports 'School Bag Purchase Expenses' for Elementary School Entrants

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun (Governor Shim Deokseop) announced on the 26th that it will promote the ‘School Bag Purchase Support Project’ for children entering elementary school.

This project will provide a total of over 30 million won to about 300 elementary school entrants this year.

The support target is new students who are registered residents in the county as of January 1, 2023, and are entering elementary schools within the district.

Applications can be made at the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Centers until the 1st of next month, and 100,000 won for school bag purchases will be provided in Gochang Love Gift Certificates during the next month.

The county also supports various educational programs to nurture digital talents among elementary school students.

In addition, from the 25th, a ‘Big Data Elementary Camp’ is being conducted for 50 participants over 2 nights and 3 days through cooperation between Jeonbuk National University’s Big Data Innovation Sharing University Project Group and the county, and a coding education support project to strengthen basic coding skills is also being promoted.

Governor Shim Deokseop said, “I hope this will ease the economic burden of parents at the start of the school year even a little and become a warm gift of interest and love from the local community to children entering elementary school.”

He added, “We will support various educational programs so that they can grow into future core talents suitable for the 4th Industrial Revolution era.”
