T'way Air Achieves 92% Load Factor on Sydney Route

One Month Since Incheon-Sydney New Route Launch

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] T'way Air announced on the 26th that it recorded an average load factor of 92% for one month after launching the new Incheon-Sydney route in December last year.


T'way Air started operating the Incheon-Sydney route four times a week on December 23 last year and operated about 35 flights until the 24th of this month. During the same period, 11,179 passengers boarded the 35 flights. According to Air Portal statistics, the average number of passengers per flight was about 319, the highest among the five domestic and international airlines operating the route.

The route is showing a high reservation rate of around 80% in February and March, and from March 27, it plans to continue operating three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) during the summer season.


A 347-seat A330-300 aircraft is deployed on the Sydney route. It operates economy class with spacious seat pitch comparable to major airlines and business saver class. All passengers are provided with free checked baggage ranging from 23kg to 40kg depending on the fare type, and complimentary in-flight meals are provided with two meals for business saver class and one meal for economy class.


A T'way Air official said, "Thanks to providing a pleasant and comfortable flight at a reasonable fare, consumer convenience and satisfaction were high," adding, "Building on the successful establishment of the long-haul route, we will secure differentiated competitiveness through additional aircraft introduction and expansion of medium- to long-haul routes in the future."
