[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is accepting additional applicants for the residency-type agricultural startup support center students until February 10.
Now in its 6th year, the Hamyang-gun residency-type agricultural startup support center has been operating since 2018, providing urban residents who wish to start farming with a place to stay and helping them settle stably in rural areas after completing the farming education course.
The center is a complex facility for education and housing, equipped with 30 residency-type houses, an education hall, vegetable gardens, and a communal practice farm, supporting more planned and stable settlement through a period of experiencing farming life in advance.
Applicants must be urban residents wishing to enroll, planning to settle in rural areas, and as of the recruitment announcement date, must have had their registered address in an urban area (outside rural towns and townships) for more than one year and be engaged in occupations other than agriculture. Anyone meeting these criteria can apply.
Applicants aged between 20 and 49 years old will be given preference for 30% of the admission quota, and North Korean defectors (Saeteomin) will be given preference for 10% of the admission quota.
For more details, refer to the recruitment announcement on the county website and submit the application form, agricultural startup plan, and related documents such as resident registration certificate, family relation certificate, land register, and farming education completion certificate in person to the Agriculture and Livestock Division of the Agricultural Technology Center.
For student accommodation, the 20-pyeong (66㎡) units, of which 20 are available, require a deposit of 765,000 KRW per year and a monthly tuition fee of 255,000 KRW. The 15-pyeong (49.5㎡) units, with 10 available, require a deposit of 576,000 KRW and a monthly tuition fee of 192,000 KRW. The individual vegetable garden area will be adjusted after enrollment.
