[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seoul Metro announced that it will add one more train on Line 5 to assist passengers of canceled flights from Jeju Island in returning home.
The train will arrive at Gangdong Station at 2:30 AM on the 26th, extending the operating hours by one hour. One train will also be added on Line 9.
The additional Line 5 train will depart from Gimpo Airport Station at 1:20 AM on the 26th. It will then pass through the city center and arrive at Gangdong Station at 2:30 AM on the 26th.
On Line 9, one regular train operating from Gimpo Airport to Sinnonhyeon will be added. It will depart Gimpo Airport Station at 1:10 AM on the 26th and arrive at Sinnonhyeon Station at 2:00 AM.
Other lines besides Lines 5 and 9 will not operate extended services during this extension, so passengers traveling on those lines cannot transfer to other lines.
An official from the corporation said, “We hope that the additional trains will help passengers return home safely and conveniently from the airport,” and added, “Please note that except for Lines 5 and 9, other lines will not have extended operations, so please plan your travel accordingly.”
