[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jongno-gu (District Mayor Jeong Mun-heon) received the "2022 Qatar World Cup Street Support ‘Gwanghwamun Square Cleaning Support Plaque of Appreciation’" from the Korea Football Association and the Red Devils at the district mayor’s office at 10:30 AM on the 25th.
This was the result of supporting the successful conclusion of the street cheering events held at Gwanghwamun Square for every match against Uruguay, Ghana, Portugal, and Brazil starting from the Uruguay match in November last year.
Jongno-gu deployed a total of 280 personnel over four days, along with 28 vehicles for waste collection and road surface cleaning, installed portable trash bins and banners throughout the area to support voluntary cleaning, manage citizen safety, and assist media coverage.
District Mayor Jeong Mun-heon said, “I thank the staff who worked hard to ensure that everyone could safely and enjoyably participate in street cheering and return home, as well as the participants who showed mature civic awareness. We will continue to prioritize citizen safety during mass gatherings and cooperate thoroughly with Seoul City and others to respond effectively.”
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Shares Metabolic Syndrome Management Know-how with Thailand
On the afternoon of the 25th, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, held a meeting with 10 officials from the Thai Ministry of Public Health who visited the Mapo-gu Health Center to implement a metabolic syndrome management project. During the meeting, he shared Mapo-gu’s advanced healthcare system and experience in managing metabolic syndrome, marking a meaningful time for the development of public healthcare between the two countries.
Damrong Tamlongrohavan, Director of Planning at the Thai Ministry of Public Health, said, “We are grateful to Mayor Park Gang-su and his staff for generously sharing the necessary system construction, research results, and operational know-how required to implement the metabolic syndrome management project.”
Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo-gu said, “I hope this meeting will greatly contribute to the development of Thailand’s healthcare system and the implementation of the metabolic syndrome project. We will seek various cooperation methods to promote mutual understanding and development between the two countries.”
