[Concall] Samsung Electro-Mechanics "Difficult to Improve Q1 Performance This Year"

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] Samsung Electro-Mechanics forecasted that its first-quarter performance this year would not improve significantly.

During the Q4 earnings conference call held on the 25th, Samsung Electro-Mechanics stated, "Despite the effect of new flagship smartphone launches from strategic clients in the first quarter, sales are not expected to improve significantly compared to the previous quarter due to weak demand for IT devices and delays in customer inventory adjustments."

Regarding this year's performance, the company added, "Geopolitical issues and inflation continue to create economic uncertainties, and the outlook for demand recovery in IT sets such as smartphones and PCs remains unclear, making the overall situation challenging."

However, Samsung Electro-Mechanics emphasized, "Promising related sectors such as automotive and servers will proactively maintain steady growth," and added, "We will strive to pioneer growth markets and make efforts to discover new customers and expand business in automotive MLCCs, automotive camera modules, and server package substrates."

They continued, "We will prepare to maximize internal efficiency through productivity improvements and cost reductions, and will do our best to minimize performance volatility caused by external uncertainties by thoroughly managing risks."
