[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Dongseo University and the United Nations Association of the World Federation recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote Global Citizenship Education (GCE) with the shared goal of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event was held via Zoom video conference, attended by Dongseo University President Jang Je-guk, Executive Vice President Kim Jeong-seon, Director of International Affairs Han Kyung-ho, Director of Planning and Research Cho Dae-su, Senior Officer Aziel Gourandris, Senior Officer Kim Yong-jae, and Administrative Officer Ko Eun-jung.
Both parties agreed through this MOU to establish a system for Dongseo University students to participate in global programs and to promote mutual development.
In particular, they agreed to actively cooperate on ▲ preparing and promoting joint cooperation programs for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ▲ holding programs to cultivate global citizenship awareness and develop conflict management and problem-solving skills ▲ building an educational platform connecting higher education institutions and international organizations worldwide ▲ the United Nations Association of the World Federation Seoul Office internship program ▲ sharing information and progress related to project implementation.

President Jang Je-guk of Dongseo University said, “Our university deeply sympathizes with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pursued by the UN, and we will strive to ensure that students participate comprehensively to enhance outcomes.”
Senior Officer Aziel Gourandris said, “I am very interested in the globalization of Dongseo University, and I hope this opportunity will provide excellent Dongseo University students with valuable experiences in global activities such as participation in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
