GS25 Launches 'Mongtan Ready Meals'... "Bringing Nationwide Famous Restaurants Together" Mongtan Dwaeji Onban, Mongtan Yangpa Meat Fried Rice.

GS25 announced on the 25th that it will launch two premium restaurant meal replacement (RMR) products, Mongtan Dwaeji Onban and Mongtan Yangpa Gogi Bokkeumbap, on the 26th.


These products were developed in collaboration with Mongtan, a famous restaurant, by Simply Cook, GS Retail's meal kit specialty brand. Mongtan Dwaeji Onban features Mongtan's secret broth made by mixing beef broth and ox bone broth, topped generously with boiled domestic pork. Its uniquely light yet deep broth flavor makes it an excellent hearty meal as well as a perfect hangover dish.


Mongtan Yangpa Gogi Bokkeumbap faithfully recreates Mongtan's signature onion fried rice. It is stir-fried with finely chopped meat, onions, corn kernels, and Mongtan's special onion fried rice recipe sauce. A separate smoky flavored oil is included, allowing customers to add it according to their preference.


Starting with Mongtan's meal kits, GS25 plans to continuously release a series of premium RMR products annually in partnership with famous restaurants that can trigger open-run demand. To this end, GS Retail established a Home Meal Replacement (HMR) division consisting of 35 meal kit experts at the end of last year.


A GS Retail official stated, "We plan to aggressively expand differentiated premium RMR products this year, led by the newly launched Mongtan products," adding, "We will focus on innovatively strengthening the competitiveness of meal kits on both online and offline platforms."
