To participate, applicants must download the application form from the district office website and submit the program proposal, consent form for personal information collection and use, and pledge by email. Detailed information can be found in the announcement on the district office website.

Submitted proposals will be evaluated from February 13 to 24 based on criteria such as appropriateness of environmental education, suitability for the target audience, and feasibility of operation. Awards will be given in March as follows: ▲ Grand Prize (1 person) (District Mayor’s Award and 500,000 KRW) ▲ Excellence Award (3 persons) (District Mayor’s Award and 300,000 KRW) ▲ Encouragement Award (5 persons) (District Mayor’s Award and 100,000 KRW) ▲ Idea Award (10 persons) (50,000 KRW each).

Last year, through the Environmental Love Practice Schools involving 46 elementary, middle, and special schools, the district supported the operation of school-based environmental education programs and conducted field trips to basic environmental facilities such as the Gangnam Resource Recovery Facility. Starting this year, the Environmental Love Practice Schools will be reorganized into "Environmental Learning Practice Schools," operating 30 schools to provide educational content reflecting the latest environmental issues and policies.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "In preparation for the 2050 carbon neutrality era, environmental education programs that resonate with future generations of students are necessary. Through the Environmental Learning Practice Schools, we will support students to maintain continuous interest in the environment and practice resource recycling and energy saving."
