Dedicated Commuter Bus 8101 Route Passing Through Dobong-gu

Commuter-only Bus No. 8101, Operates 6 Times on Weekdays (7:30 AM to 8:05 AM, at 7-minute Intervals)

Dawn-only Bus No. 8146, Operates 3 Times on Weekdays (3:50 AM, 3:55 AM, 4:00 AM)

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has expanded the operation of the "commuter-only customized bus No. 8101" route to reduce bus crowding during early morning commute hours and resolve traffic complaints.

Starting February 1, the bus will operate 6 times on weekdays (from 7:30 AM to 8:05 AM), departing from Dobong Health Center (central lane) bus stop and running to Seosomun.

The extension of route 8101 is the result of organic communication and cooperation with Seoul City. The route has been extended from the existing Suyu Station?Jonggak to Dobong Health Center?Jonggak, passing through Ssangmun Station, a major public transportation hub in Dobong-gu, thereby providing convenient bus-to-subway transfers.

Meanwhile, to serve residents traveling during the early morning hours, the customized bus No. 8146 began operation on January 16. Although it operates on the same route as the existing No. 146 bus, it starts 15 minutes earlier than the first No. 146 bus at 4:05 AM, beginning at 3:50 AM, and runs 3 times on weekdays (3:50 AM, 3:55 AM, and 4:00 AM).

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “Through the operation of commuter-only bus No. 8101 and dawn-only bus No. 8146, we expect to significantly enhance the transportation welfare of residents commuting to downtown Seoul. We will continue to communicate and cooperate closely with Seoul City and strive to improve transportation welfare for our residents.”

Additionally, the district is conducting the “Dobong-gu City Bus Route System Reorganization Project” to reflect local residents’ inconveniences in using city buses and to strengthen accessibility between transportation hubs. The district is making every effort to establish a city bus operation system suitable for local conditions.
