Hotel Launches Family-Friendly Staycation Packages Targeting School Holidays

The hotel industry is rolling out various 'Kikangs (Kids + Staycations)' products featuring diverse content to enjoy with children during the winter vacation.


According to the hotel industry on the 22nd, Maison Glad Jeju opened a complex play experience space for children called 'Playtime' on the 20th. Playtime is an exciting kids club operated by Playtime Group, which runs the largest indoor playground for children in Korea. It is a kids cafe that offers creative play content developed through specialized programs researched and developed by experts. Visitors can enjoy 12 different play contents, including the 'Art Zone,' where children can choose their desired art play items and experience them on-site; the 'Trampoline,' where they can challenge various jumps; the giant seesaw play 'Balancing Board,' which helps develop balance with friends; and the 'Touch Slide,' which enhances play and a sense of achievement by climbing up, touching, and sliding down. Maison Glad Jeju also features a 'Sports Zone' for unique indoor baseball and soccer play and a 'Toddler Zone' for infants and toddlers to enjoy.


For the safety of visiting children, Playtime only allows entry for those under 150cm in height, and children under 36 months can enter accompanied by one guardian. Operating hours are from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The 'It's Playtime' package, which includes Playtime discount tickets, is available until March 31. It offers one night’s stay, one admission ticket to Jeju theme park 'Teddy Bear House Tezium,' a 20% discount ticket for the theme park, and a 20% discount ticket for the kids cafe 'Playtime Maison Glad Jeju' (for one child).


Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel and premium domestic children's clothing brand 'Bebedpino' are launching a kids package called 'My Dear Little Bebe.'' This package includes a limited edition children's robe and Bebedpino puzzle set co-produced by Grand Hyatt Seoul and Bebedpino, a 100,000 KRW credit usable at the Grand Hyatt hotel’s food and beverage outlets, a 10% discount ticket for Club Olympus ice rink, and a one-hour indoor swimming pool pass. Seoul Dragon City is collaborating with Pok?mon Korea to launch a room package exclusively for kids and kidults. The Pok?mon Korea collaboration room package is available until February 15. The package includes one night in a Pok?mon-themed room, four limited-edition Pok?mon amenities, breakfast for two adults, and access to the swimming pool and fitness center. Breakfast for two children under 16 is provided free of charge, offering special benefits for families with children. The themed room in the Novotel Superior category is decorated with various Pok?mon-themed items such as pillow covers, bed runners, mood lights, and humidifiers. To maximize satisfaction for Pok?mon enthusiasts, limited-edition amenities including dolls, microfiber blankets, reusable cups, and stickers are provided.


Courtyard Marriott Seoul Namdaemun Hotel offers the 'Travel With Kids Package' until August 31. The package includes one night’s stay (choice of Premier, Premier View, Deluxe, Executive Deluxe, or Suite room) and breakfast buffet benefits for two adults and up to two children under 12 at Momocafe. It also includes a gift set of three pediatric skincare products from the Spanish dermocosmetic brand 'Babe.' The Babe pediatric set consists of 100ml bath gel, 100ml moisturizing body milk, and 200ml extra mild shampoo. Package guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi in the fitness center and rooms. Executive Deluxe or Suite room selections come with additional Executive Lounge benefits.


Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is offering the 'Kids for All Seasons' package. Included in the package is a 60,000 KRW art education program called 'Make Your Own Fabric Calendar' class, held at the hotel’s 10th-floor kids lounge in collaboration with the Drawing Art Studio. The program allows children to mark special days on a fabric-based 2023 calendar and express their artistic inspiration using various art tools and colorful hues. Through pattern derivation processes, children complete the calendar using patterns that reflect their individuality rather than simply tracing shapes, fostering confidence and a sense of achievement. This program is available only on weekends when the kids lounge operates. On weekends, the kids lounge also offers various free play classes that satisfy children’s five senses, such as cookie decoration and lantern making. The package is available until February 28. It includes one night’s stay, family breakfast buffet (two adults + preschool child), one participation in the 'Make Your Own Fabric Calendar' class, valet parking, a Four Seasons signature bulldog doll, and an in-room kids tent. Basic benefits include free use of the fitness club, Golfzon, and indoor swimming pool.


InterContinental Seoul COEX, operated by Parnas Hotel, has enhanced the 'Kids Forest' package in collaboration with The Pinkfong Company. Since 2019, InterContinental COEX has partnered with The Pinkfong Company to offer various products featuring the Pinkfong Baby Shark character. Starting this year, the package includes a 'Pinkfong Baby Shark Kids Forest Kit' containing a coloring book, colored pencils, and a character multipurpose bandana, as well as a limited edition 'Pinkfong Gift Book' in the form of an advent calendar. The gift book includes jelly tin cases, jelly packs, roll stickers, and other items created in collaboration with the candy jelly brand 'Winniebini' (available while supplies last). Package guests receive a Classic King Pinkfong Baby Shark concept room with an extra bed, breakfast for two adults and one child at the buffet restaurant 'Brasserie,' and access to the 'Cosmopolitan Fitness Club.'
