EU Leadership Urges "Need to Support Ukraine Tanks"

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] The leadership of the European Union (EU) has emphasized the need to support Ukraine with military equipment such as tanks.

On the 20th (local time), Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, told reporters, "We must support the combat weapons and heavy tanks that Ukraine has requested from the West," adding, "Some European countries are ready to provide support."

He also stressed his hope that such a decision would be made at the 'Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG)' meeting held that day at the Ramstein US Air Force Base in Germany.

The day before, Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, also stated in a parliamentary speech, "More support for Ukraine is needed." He added, "More long-range missiles, ammunition, and tanks are urgently required."
