Starting the Culture Settlement Challenge of Donating Love and Receiving Gratitude Delivery
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 20th that it has started the Hometown Love Donation Challenge together with employees affiliated with the county office ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The event was held at the 'Lunar New Year Hwasun Agricultural and Specialty Products Direct Market' along with Hwasun-gun agricultural and specialty products, which are thank-you gifts of the Hometown Love Donation system.
The Hometown Love Donation system is a program where individuals can donate to their hometown or a local government of their choice, excluding their residential address, and receive tax deductions and thank-you gifts (within 30% of the donation amount).
The donated funds are pooled into the Hometown Love Fund and used to support socially vulnerable groups, foster and protect youth, promote culture, arts, and health, and revitalize local communities.
County Governor Koo Bok-gyu said, “This is a time when multifaceted promotion and public consensus are needed for the successful establishment of the Hometown Love Donation system, which is implemented to respond to local extinction. We will actively promote the system to expatriates and others visiting their hometowns during the Lunar New Year holiday to ensure the program is successfully settled.”
Hwasun-gun plans to continue the 'Hometown Love Donation Challenge' to foster empathy and spread awareness of the Hometown Love Donation system.
