"President and Presidential Office's Blatant Political Interference"
"If President Moon Did That, Media Would Be in an Uproar"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Woo Sang-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, predicted that Han Dong-hoon, Minister of Justice, will enter politics once the prosecution's investigation into Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, is over.
On the 20th, Woo appeared on SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' and said, "I think he will eventually go into politics," adding, "I don't know when he will quit, but since he became Minister of Justice with the purpose of putting Leader Lee behind bars, he will come out after it's over."
Regarding Minister Han, Woo said, "It seems he has decided to become President Yoon Seok-youl's henchman and take the lead in attacking the opposition party," adding, "He cannot tolerate any remarks that touch his feelings."
He continued, "Minister Han is at the forefront of the prosecution's investigation, but he is blatantly and intentionally targeting only matters related to Leader Lee," and said, "There are continuous remarks from Minister Han that make one feel this is politics, not the rule of law. I earnestly ask him to stop."

Woo further criticized, "Right now, Minister Han's political remarks are making more news than any politician in the People Power Party. Why is Minister Han saying what the People Power Party spokesperson should be saying?"
Regarding the prosecution's investigation targeting Leader Lee, including the Daejang-dong and Wirye development preferential treatment allegations, he said, "Look at why we are criticizing the current prosecution and Minister of Justice from a reverse perspective."
Woo pointed out, "Without Minister Han, given Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok's style, the prosecution would not be conducting such excessive investigations. I suspect it is Minister Han's intention," adding, "Continuously summoning and humiliating someone you competed against in the recent presidential election without presenting undeniable evidence is a political investigation."
On the People Power Party's party convention, he criticized, "It is the worst convention I have ever seen." Woo said, "It is the first time I have seen the president and the presidential office intervene. Such blatant political interference shaking the ruling party like that is old politics that even authoritarian regimes did not openly do."
Woo said, "If former Presidents Moon Jae-in or the late Roh Moo-hyun had done what President Yoon is doing, the entire media would have been in an uproar in editorials. They would have criticized the president for interfering in politics instead of focusing on people's livelihoods," adding, "From Na Kyung-won's perspective, it must be very unfair. To harass and bring down a senior member of the same party like that is too harsh."
