[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Lee Seung-hwa, the governor of Sancheong County, Gyeongnam, held a visit event to social welfare facilities in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
At the event held on the 19th, consolation goods (household item sets) worth 7 million won were delivered to 14 social welfare facilities in the Sancheong area. In addition, consolation money of 50,000 won each was given to 80 underprivileged households.
In particular, Governor Lee personally visited Seongsim In-aewon in Sancheong-eup to encourage and communicate with the social welfare facility workers and the elderly residents.
Lee Seunghwa, the governor of Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, visited Seongsim In-aewon for Lunar New Year greetings.
Kim Chang-deok, the deputy governor of Sancheong, also visited Sancheong Hanil Nursing Home to comfort the elderly.
Sancheong County is making efforts to spread neighborly love and sharing by visiting social welfare facilities every year before holidays, including this consolation event.
Governor Lee said, “As we celebrate Seol, the biggest national holiday, more attention and support are needed to ensure that no neighbors are left out.” He added, “Although it is a difficult time for everyone due to COVID-19 and high inflation, we will spare no support to create a society where everyone is happy.
