[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged the media not to focus on Minister Han Dong-hoon's 'rhetoric' as the Minister of Justice is making excessively political remarks.
On the 19th, Kim advised on CBS's 'Park Jae-hong's One-on-One Match,' saying, "It seems the Minister of Justice is being a bit too political," and added, "It would be better to stop the politics and focus on administration."
He said, "As the Minister of Justice, who uses the public budget and organization of the Republic of Korea, you should not make such politically flashy remarks," and warned, "Otherwise, there will be repercussions later, and you will regret why you did that."
He continued, "If you want to do politics, since there have been ongoing talks, you should either run for party leader or quickly decide on a constituency to prepare for next year's general election."
He also requested the media, "Minister Han keeps using rhetoric like that; what meaning does it have? Why ask about it? Just accept it and move on."
He expressed skepticism, saying, "When a minister talks about new facts or policies, that's worth discussing, but why should we debate political sarcasm or ridicule with rhetoric?"
Regarding the statement issued by 48 first-term lawmakers of the party against former lawmaker Na Kyung-won, he described it as "mangjo" and criticized, "They are constitutional institutions, people entrusted with authority by more than 100,000 citizens, yet they gather and engage in behavior that is truly unreasonable and unacceptable."
