[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] T Scientific announced on the 18th that it will proceed with a merger with ITnomads, the first domestic company to obtain GS certification for the image file detection system ‘i-PMS v2.0’. ITnomads is developing AI-based chatbot technology as a government national project.
ITnomads is an IT total/security solution company with a wide range of references, including financial and public institutions such as Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), Bank of Korea, Korea Exchange, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Supreme Court, as well as general companies like Samsung SDS, SK C&C, LG U+, LGCNS, and Toss Payments.
In 2020, ITnomads obtained the highest technical grade T-2 from NICE D&B and has maintained this grade to date. It has also been certified as an innovative growth venture company by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, gaining external recognition for its technological capabilities.
Recently, ITnomads was selected for the ‘2022 Private Sector Blockchain Pilot Project’ hosted by KISA and the Ministry of Science and ICT, and launched the donation and fund blockchain platform ‘Dream Button’. Starting with the Dream Button project, the company plans to expand new businesses related to cloud and blockchain, in addition to personal information protection and data security projects.
Additionally, ITnomads plans to carry out the R&D project ‘Development of AI-based Personal Information Detection and De-identification Technology in Conversational Text Data’ led by KISA until 2024.
Through government information security projects sponsored by the Personal Information Protection Commission and led by KISA, various technologies applicable to chatbots are being developed. The core focus is on developing AI-based technologies capable of named entity recognition and situational awareness in conversational texts such as chatbot dialogues.
By utilizing the AI technology developed in this project, AI chatbots can understand and recognize sentences close to everyday conversations used by users. Furthermore, personal information included in the conversation can be detected and de-identified in advance to minimize the risk of personal information exposure.
In particular, Secuwiz, the top domestic SSL VPN technology-based company in which ITnomads holds a 32.5% stake as the second largest shareholder, obtained the ‘SecuwaySSL U V2.1 KISA Information Security Product Performance Evaluation’ from KISA in November last year.
Based on Secuwiz’s technological capabilities, the company explained that it is expected to expand its business areas in network and Internet of Things (IoT) security fields in the future.
A T Scientific official stated, “Through synergy creation between the existing IT business and ITnomads’ ‘blockchain IT total/solution service’ business and continuous investment for business expansion, we plan to actively pursue blockchain and security IT business this year and focus on growth aiming to more than double within three years.”
