COVID-19 Prevention and Emergency Medical System Setup During the Holiday Period
Restricted Operation of Major Local Tourist Attractions on Seollal Day
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will implement comprehensive measures to ensure that residents and visitors returning to their hometowns during the Lunar New Year holiday can have a safer and happier holiday.
To this end, the county has formed 10 task forces including COVID-19 response, traffic flow, price stabilization, disaster and accident prevention, health care, resolving resident inconveniences, tourism guidance, livestock disease control, and establishment of public service discipline, and will conduct emergency duty.
In particular, although the COVID-19 outbreak is on the decline, a thorough medical system will be established to prevent re-spread.
The Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will operate emergency duty during the holiday period to ensure no medical service gaps, and plans to operate a screening clinic, emergency medical situation room, isolation facilities, designated on-duty medical institutions, and pharmacies.
Thorough measures will also be taken for traffic and price stabilization.
The Special Transportation Measures Situation Room will manage vehicle traffic conditions and safe driving during the holiday period, and the Price Stabilization Task Force will ensure the safety of residents and visitors through supply and price stabilization of essential goods and monitoring of origin labeling.
Additionally, a focused collection plan for household waste will be promoted, a comprehensive task force for the county cemetery will be operated, and a water and sewage inconvenience reporting center will be established.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, outdoor facilities such as Juknokwon, Metaland, Soswaewon, and Gamagol Ecological Park will be open free of charge on Lunar New Year’s Day, while indoor facilities such as the House Literature Museum, Bamboo Museum, and Eco Center will be closed.
Furthermore, gifts will be delivered to all social welfare facilities and low-income households in the county to create a festive atmosphere, and a livestock quarantine task force situation room will be operated to establish a system for rapid initial quarantine measures to block livestock diseases.
On the 17th, County Governor Lee Byeongno visited Damyang Market ahead of the holiday to encourage merchants, listen to their difficulties, and attend to the livelihood field.
Governor Lee Byeongno said, “We will pay special attention to ensuring a warm holiday for marginalized groups amid difficult economic conditions,” and added, “The top priority of county administration is the happiness and safety of residents, and we will strive to ensure that all residents can spend a warm and comfortable Lunar New Year holiday.”
