At the meeting, the delegation reported achievements such as strengthening domestic and international on-site networking at ‘CES 2023’, visiting the city of Pittsburgh to actively promote overseas expansion of venture startups through global partnerships, and pledging continuous exchanges.
Along with this, through the case of the global innovation city San Diego, they shared development strategies for building a global bio cluster and explored development plans applicable to Pohang City.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “Investment in new industries such as bio, battery, hydrogen, and digital innovation, as well as technologies that can improve quality of life, will increase the future value of Pohang,” adding, “Based on close overseas networks, I hope everyone will work together to build a Pohang that leaps into the world with an attitude of innovation and challenge.”
At the executive meeting held ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, Mayor Lee urged special attention to be paid to citizen convenience and strengthening the social safety net by establishing prevention and response systems for various disasters and safety accidents, providing transportation convenience, building a safe transport system, and normal processing of household waste during the holiday period to ensure that citizens do not experience any inconvenience during the holiday.
