Ahn Cheol-soo, Campaign Kickoff Rally "170 Seats in General Election, Regime Re-creation"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Ahn Cheol-soo, a candidate for the People Power Party leadership, held a launch ceremony for his 3·8 party convention campaign and revealed his vision.

On the afternoon of the 18th, Ahn held the 'Ahn Cheol-soo 170V Camp' launch ceremony at the People Power Party central office. '170V' signifies 'winning 170 seats in next year's general election.' Ahn introduced his vision as a party leader candidate through a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation lasting about 30 minutes.

Ahn said, "If we secure 70 seats, which is the majority of 121 seats in the metropolitan area, in next year's general election, we can secure a total of 170 seats by adding the current 100 seats outside the metropolitan area. If this happens, I can properly implement the national agenda that I have worked on tirelessly, and if that is done well, we can recreate the administration, and with 10 years of effort as president afterward, we can become an advanced country."

He added, "I created 110 major national agendas one by one and formed a consensus while receiving the president's approval. I am the candidate who knows the 110 major national agendas most thoroughly compared to any other party leader (candidate) currently running," expressing confidence.

Regarding the remark by his leadership rival, Representative Kim Ki-hyun, that "this general election will be fought with President Yoon's face," Ahn said, "That implies the party does not need to play a role, which is not right," and warned, "A party that points out mistakes, proposes better alternatives, and maintains a complementary relationship with the presidential office can win the election."

About 300 people, estimated by the office, attended the launch ceremony. Among the incumbent lawmakers present were Representatives Lee Myung-soo, Lee Yong-ho, Ji Seong-ho, and Choi Yeon-sook.

Meanwhile, Ahn plans to pay a courtesy visit to former President Lee Myung-bak on the afternoon of the 20th.
