[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The 2022 Industry-Academia-Government Cooperation Talent Development Project (Work2Learn Semester System), jointly implemented by Busan City, companies, and Dongmyung University, held its performance report meeting on January 18th at the 4th floor of Centum Hotel in Haeundae.
The Work2Learn (W2L) semester system is a Waterloo-type co-op program that fosters local talent equipped with both theoretical and practical skills by combining several months of on-site corporate practical experience (credit recognized) following university theoretical education, linking industry-academia-government cooperation with employment (recruitment).

At the report meeting, 11 participating companies including Kyungsung Industry, Nice Energy Engineering, D&Commerce, Busan Web, Buil Planning, Big Pine Animation Studio, Samwoo Immersion, Embass, Unix Labor Law Firm, KS, and Korea Global Engineering received participation certificates.
In the outstanding student awards, Nam Gyo-hu, a junior in the Department of Electrical Engineering, received the grand prize, while Lee Chang-min, a senior in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Park Jin-wook, a junior in Computer Engineering, and Yoon Sung-jun, a junior majoring in Digital Contents, received excellence awards.
Goo Seong-yeon, a junior in Information and Communication Software Engineering, Kim Tae-kyung, a junior majoring in Digital Contents, Bae Jin-hwan, a senior in Automotive Engineering, and Jang Min-su, a senior in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, received encouragement awards.
Afterwards, Team Leader Jo Seong-ho of the Startup Support Group at Busan Economic Promotion Agency presented the progress and future plans of the W2L semester pilot project, followed by greetings from President Jeon Ho-hwan, and congratulatory remarks from Lee Soon-jung, Head of Industry-Academia-Government Cooperation Division of Busan City, and Jin Yang-hyun, Director of Busan Economic Promotion Agency.
This report meeting was hosted by Busan City and organized by Busan Economic Promotion Agency and Dongmyung University.
In the Work2Learn semester pilot project conducted from early September to the end of November last year, a total of 15 Dongmyung University students achieved results and recently received recognition for 16 credits each. Accordingly, Busan City decided to implement this as a full project rather than a pilot project in 2023.
