Changwon Special City Completes 'Gift of Love Home' Talent Donation Project

Six Construction Companies Renovate Old Homes for Vulnerable Groups

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam completed the ‘Gift of Love House’ talent donation project last year to provide a warm year-end for neighbors in need with vulnerable housing conditions.

The ‘2022 Gift of Love House’ support project is a program that renovates or repairs old houses and installs convenience facilities for housing-vulnerable groups such as low-income families, grandparent-headed households, and multicultural families through talent donations from local construction companies and construction businesses currently operating in the region.

Changwon City recruited six companies wishing to participate in the talent donation, received recommendations for neighbors in need through the heads of towns, townships, and neighborhoods, and supported eight households. The talent donation included ▲ rooftop and roof waterproofing ▲ sink replacement ▲ wallpaper and flooring replacement, providing customized support for each household to improve the living environment of neighbors in need within the jurisdiction.

The companies participating in the ‘2022 Gift of Love House’ talent donation were Bando Construction, Samjeong Enterprise, Taeyoung Construction, Hyundai Construction, Lotte Construction, and Seungjin Construction. On the 18th, Changwon City presented plaques of appreciation to the meritorious persons and expressed gratitude, while also collecting opinions on difficulties faced at construction sites.

Jo Myeong-rae, the second vice mayor, said, “We express our gratitude to the participating company officials who delivered hope despite difficult site conditions. We will ensure that the culture of voluntary sharing continues.”
