To spread the practice of water conservation, they focused on encouraging stores and lodging businesses in the district with insufficient participation in water supply facility pressure reduction.

They also raised awareness about the seriousness of water shortage in Gwangju and delivered promotional materials related to water conservation along with appeals for cooperation in water pressure adjustment.

On the same day, employees from 45 departments of Gwangsan-gu divided their assigned areas mainly across 21 neighborhoods and promoted participation in water conservation on-site.

There are 9,271 general water supply points (faucets) in Gwangsan-gu, and the water pressure reduction encouragement activities targeted 6,545 locations excluding single-family houses and one-room apartments.

District Mayor Park said, “Although we continue to intensively promote water conservation campaigns to overcome the drought, the water shortage situation remains severe. Citizen participation is crucial to avoid restricted water supply. I and the public officials will lead by example.”

Meanwhile, Gwangsan-gu is making efforts to induce water pressure adjustment practice by posting an appeal letter in the name of the Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City in 129,210 apartment households in the district and sending official letters requesting cooperation for water conservation to related organizations, groups, facilities, and businesses within the district.
