Former Rep. Na on Facebook: "Dismissal decision, I believe it was not the President's intention"
Kim Dae-gi, Chief Secretary, publicly refutes through notice to reporters
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 17th, the Presidential Office rebutted former lawmaker Na Kyung-won, who stated that "her dismissal from the positions of Vice Chairperson of the Low Birthrate and Aging Society Committee and Climate Environment Ambassador was not the president's true intention," saying, "(Former lawmaker Na's) dismissal was a decision based on the president's accurate fact-finding."
Kim Dae-gi, Chief of Staff to the President, announced this through a notice to the press corps covering the Presidential Office that afternoon.
Chief Kim said, "First, I would like to emphasize that the president understands various national issues more accurately than anyone else," adding, "The president, through a long public service career, values substantive truth above all in public decision-making."
He further pointed out, "The president, who spares no time in economic diplomacy activities for national interests, knows well how he views former lawmaker Na's conduct so far."
On the same day, former lawmaker Na posted on her Facebook, "My dismissal is certainly the final decision made by the president," but added, "While my shortcomings may have contributed to the president making such a decision, I believe there was also distortion in the communication process. Therefore, I think the dismissal was not the president's true intention."
She also pointed out, "To win next year's general election, we need a party leader who conveys the people's will as it is, not one who drives a wedge between the people and the president, and who corrects distorted reports from some aides."
