[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province has formed an 'Emergency Livelihood Stabilization Task Force (TF)' to respond swiftly to the local economic crisis.
On the 17th, Suwon City held the launch ceremony of the Emergency Livelihood Stabilization Task Force in the city hall situation room and discussed plans to activate the TF.
The Emergency Livelihood Stabilization Task Force, led by Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun, is composed of the Suwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gyeonggi Southern Supermarket Cooperative, Gyeonggi Province Merchants Association, Suwon Small Business Association, Bank of Korea Gyeonggi Headquarters, Suwon Consumer Education Central Association, university professors, Suwon City Policy Research Institute, and Suwon city officials. After the launch ceremony, Mayor Lee Jae-jun presided over the first meeting.
The TF seeks ways to respond quickly to the local economic crisis by reflecting the voices of experts in various fields. Its goal is to derive practical livelihood stabilization measures and plans. It will continue to operate until prices stabilize.
The city has prepared response plans consisting of three major strategies and nine tasks: ▲ promotion of local price management measures ▲ rapid response for stabilizing the livelihood of ordinary citizens ▲ customized support for small business owners to overcome the crisis.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun emphasized, "Prices and interest rates are rising, and the local economy is stagnating, causing difficulties for ordinary citizens and small business owners. We will promptly establish and implement measures that can appropriately respond to emergency situations centered on the Livelihood Stabilization Task Force."
He added, "We will listen carefully to voices from the field and prepare and implement policies that provide practical help to ordinary citizens and small business owners."
