Until now, Songhyeon Village had experienced great inconvenience due to the absence of a village hall and senior citizens' center, but preparations for construction became possible after Songhyeon Port was selected for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' Fishing Village New Deal 300 project in 2020.

The multipurpose welfare center, built as a specialized project of the Fishing Village New Deal 300, was established to provide various welfare services aimed at improving residents' living conditions and quality of life.

Governor Kim San said, “The installation of an elevator in the multipurpose welfare center will greatly contribute to improving residents' quality of life by providing convenience so that transportation-vulnerable groups such as wheelchair users and the elderly can use the facility more easily and comfortably.”
