Ministry of Education to Hold Expert Forum on 2028 College Admission Reform

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Ahead of the 2028 academic year college entrance exam system reform, the government is organizing a forum to analyze the current status of the existing College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) and explore improvement directions with experts.


The Ministry of Education, together with the Korea Council for University Education (KCUE), will hold the 3rd 2028 College Entrance Reform Expert Forum on the 17th at Sogang University.


The Ministry of Education is gathering expert opinions ahead of the 2028 college entrance reform, and this forum is the third session following those held in October and November last year.

At the forum, held under the theme "Current Operation Status and Issues of the Existing CSAT," Professor Min Chan-hong of Hanyang University’s Department of Policy Studies, who was the chair of the 2021 CSAT question committee, will present on "Diagnosis of the Current CSAT Status," and Kang Kyung-jin, an admissions officer at Sogang University, will present on "Current Utilization Status of CSAT in College Admissions."


Following these, Choi Seo-hee, a teacher at Jungdong High School in Seoul, will present on "CSAT Preparation Status at High School Sites," and Yoon Jae-ryong, a teacher at Gyeongmin High School in Gyeonggi Province, will present on "Expansion of Absolute Evaluation and Changes at High School Sites."


After the expert presentations, a comprehensive discussion among the presenters and a Q&A session with the audience will follow.


The forum is open to anyone interested in college entrance reform. It will also be broadcast live on the KCUE YouTube channel "Daehak Eodiga TV."
