Reducing Fine Dust and Heating Costs Through Support Projects
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Sunho) announced that from the 16th, it will promote the '2023 Low-NOx Boiler Installation Support Project,' which provides subsidies when installing household low-NOx boilers as part of fine dust reduction measures.
A household low-NOx boiler refers to a boiler with an hourly evaporation capacity of less than 0.1 tons (or heat output of 61,900 kcal) and is a product certified by the Environmental Label of the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute. It is an eco-friendly boiler that reduces air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) and also has the effect of reducing fuel consumption.
The boilers eligible for subsidy payments are limited to those installed and applied for in 2023, and the product must have a valid Environmental Label certification "at the time of installation." Verification of the Environmental Label certification can be done through the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute's Environmental Label Consultation Center or website.
The support quantity this time is a total of 57 units, including 52 units for general households and 5 units for low-income households. The support amount per unit is 100,000 KRW for general households and 600,000 KRW for low-income households.
A Gurye-gun official stated, "The support targets are homeowners or tenants residing in Gurye-gun as of the application date who install (replace) household low-NOx boilers. Applications can be made online before and after boiler installation or by visiting in person."
