[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum will hold a special full moon observation event to celebrate Jeongwol Daeboreum, Starlight School, and Night Sky Observation Captain as part of its February night sky observation program.
The special observation event on Jeongwol Daeboreum, February 5th, is open to everyone. Participants can learn about the full moon and directly observe the full moon, Mars, star clusters, and nebulae using telescopes at the Starlight Observatory.
Applications for the special observation event can be made through the science museum's website starting from the 20th of this month.
The Starlight School, held earlier on February 1st, is also open to anyone interested in astronomy.
It features fun astronomy stories set against the backdrop of space, finding winter constellations, and celestial observations using the largest telescope at a domestic science museum, the Starlight Observatory telescope.
The Night Sky Observation Captain program on February 2nd allows teams of up to four participants from third grade elementary school and above.
Participants learn about the types and principles of telescopes, assemble and operate telescopes themselves, and freely observe celestial bodies in the night sky. They can also receive the celestial photos they take as souvenirs.
Applications for Starlight School and Night Sky Observation Captain will be accepted through the science museum's website starting from the 17th of this month.
More detailed information about night sky observation can be found on the National Gwangju Science Museum website.
