718 Schools and Public Institutions in Gyeongbuk Open Parking Lots Free During Lunar New Year Holiday Gyeongbuk Office of Education

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] During the Lunar New Year holiday, schools in the Gyeongbuk region will open their parking lots to the public.

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 16th that from the 21st to the 24th, 662 public and private schools (365 kindergartens and elementary schools, 159 middle schools, 138 high and special schools) and 56 educational administrative institutions will voluntarily open their parking lots and playgrounds for the convenience of returning visitors and nearby residents.

The school parking lots being opened this time can be accessed by searching for 'free parking lot' on the Public Data Portal and private portals (Kakao, Naver), then using the navigation function.

Detailed information such as whether a school is included and the opening hours can also be checked on the Gyeongbuk Office of Education website (Information Plaza).

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education requested that when using the voluntarily opened school parking lots, visitors leave emergency contact information on the front of their vehicles for quick communication in case of emergencies. They also asked people to refrain from damaging school facilities or illegally dumping trash.

Baek Young-ae, Director of the Finance Department, said, "By opening school parking lots and playgrounds free of charge during this Lunar New Year holiday, it will ease parking difficulties for visitors coming to urban residential areas where parking facilities are insufficient."
