Emart24 announced on the 16th that it will designate this year as the first year of digital innovation and maximize efficiency by applying information and communication technology (ICT) throughout its operations.


Emart24 will introduce a smart access authentication device that allows entry to unmanned stores during late-night hours with just a phone call. The smart access authentication device will be applied to hybrid stores that operate with staff during the day and unmanned at night, and will be gradually expanded starting from new stores.


To help store owners operate their stores efficiently, Emart24 will upgrade the existing portable terminal (PDA) and introduce a next-generation PDA with enhanced user convenience. This new PDA doubles the processing speed compared to the previous model, enabling key store operations such as product inspection, ordering, and product inquiry to be completed within one second.


The smart cigarette vending machine will be sequentially introduced in new hybrid stores. It was developed by combining a kiosk capable of self-checkout with a cigarette vending machine, allowing customers to purchase cigarettes as easily as paying for regular products. Customers can buy cigarettes after adult verification using a mobile PASS (resident registration card or driver’s license).


To provide immersive visual information to prospective store owners, Emart24 is the first in the industry to introduce a 3D digital startup guidebook. The actual store appearance is built in a 3D virtual space, allowing indirect experience of various stores. Stores are categorized by size, type, and concept, and the display of products, various fixtures, and interior design are implemented in 3D, enabling prospective owners to vividly feel the actual store without visiting in person.


An Emart24 official stated, “This year, we plan to focus all our capabilities on digital innovation by applying various ICT technologies to operate stores more smartly and build a work environment where employees can work efficiently. We will actively introduce various new technologies that enhance customer convenience and help increase franchise store sales, not as one-time events but as commercialized solutions in stores to achieve tangible results.”
