Jungnang-gu Increases Veterans' Honor Allowance to 50,000 Won per Month

Monthly Veterans' Honor Allowance Increased from 30,000 KRW to 50,000 KRW

Allowance Paid on the 25th of Every Month to Support Veterans' Honor and Living Stability

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) announced that starting this year, the veterans' honor allowance for national veterans will be increased. The district stated that the increase was decided to honor and support the living stability of national veterans who have dedicated and sacrificed for the country.

The veterans' honor allowance is a stipend paid to national veterans and prioritized bereaved families residing in the area, according to the Jungnang-gu Ordinance on the Honor and Support for National Veterans. Currently, there are about 4,000 national veterans in the district.

The district raised the veterans' honor allowance from 20,000 KRW to 30,000 KRW per month last year, and from this year, it will be increased to 50,000 KRW per month.

To apply for the veterans' honor allowance, applicants must prepare documents such as an application form, national veterans identification card, and a copy of their bankbook, and visit the local community service center in their residential area. After application, eligibility will be verified, and the allowance will be paid on the 25th of every month.

For inquiries regarding the veterans' honor allowance, contact the Welfare Policy Division of Jungnang-gu Office or the local community service center.

Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I hope this increase will be of some help to the national veterans who have dedicated themselves to the country,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to fully honor the lives of national veterans.”
