The Brazilian Supreme Court has authorized an investigation into former President Jair Bolsonaro in connection with incitement to riot and refusal to accept the presidential election results.

According to major foreign media on the 14th (local time), Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes accepted the prosecution's request to include former President Jair Bolsonaro as a subject of the investigation into the election result rejection riots. The Brazilian prosecution filed a request with the Supreme Court on the 8th to initiate an investigation into former President Bolsonaro on charges of involvement in inciting anti-democratic acts that occurred in Brasilia.

This request was made based on the judgment of prosecutors belonging to the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Brasilia. It is known that the reason for initiating the investigation was Bolsonaro sharing a video on his Facebook on the 10th, alleging improper judicial intervention during the election process.

The possibility of forcibly repatriating former President Bolsonaro, who is currently staying in Florida, USA, has increased. Although Bolsonaro has stated that he plans to return "within this month," the actual return and its timing remain uncertain.

The Brazilian prosecution and police are conducting investigations divided into three main categories: rioters who stormed the presidential palace, financiers who provided monetary support to them, and violators of the Information and Communications Network Act who produced and disseminated various false information online.
