[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's Task Force for Reducing Regional Educational Disparities is collecting opinions from parents and school principals in educationally underserved areas and is promoting regionally tailored balanced education development projects reflecting these views.
The Task Force plans to promote balanced educational development by improving the educational environment and enhancing educational capacity in old downtown areas, educationally underserved regions, and small schools.
Since the 9th, the Task Force has held five meetings with elementary, middle, and high school principals from underserved areas, parents, experts, and local government officials to assess the current situation and analyze cases to address educational disparities in the old downtown area.
During the meetings, they presented various opinions including ▲ prioritizing the securing of excellent teachers in educationally underserved areas ▲ improving aging school facilities ▲ diversifying after-school programs ▲ activating connections with the local community.
The Task Force plans to establish an action plan to reduce educational disparities by reflecting these opinions as much as possible.
