[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Jamface announced on the 13th that the cumulative number of uses of its ‘Cosmetics Matching’ service, launched in mid-September last year, surpassed 1.5 million within just three months.
Jamface operates a service that diagnoses face types such as skin type, personal color, and face shape based on artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, and recommends cosmetics and makeup according to the diagnosis results.
‘Cosmetics Matching’ is a service that allows users to instantly check the compatibility between cosmetics and their skin by searching for skincare products they want to buy or have used before. The matching results are provided in eight categories such as ‘Perfect Match’, ‘Fits Well’, ‘Average’, and ‘Reconsider’, making it easy to find cosmetics suitable for one’s skin. Users can also view the functions, content, and blending ratios of all cosmetic ingredients, as well as essential and cautionary ingredients for their skin, all at a glance on the results page.
The products eligible for Cosmetics Matching include about 10,000 items in categories such as toner, pad, serum, and cream. Anyone can try matching for free by downloading the app.
Jamface also launched the ‘Skin Matching’ service that diagnoses skin types. Skin Matching uses AI deep learning technology to analyze skin condition comprehensively?including oil and moisture content, sensitivity, acne, blemishes, and skin elasticity?by taking a facial photo, accurately identifying the skin type.
As a result of more than 200,000 users taking the skin type diagnosis test within three months of the service launch, the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) showed the highest proportion of the ‘Sufficient Moisture Dry Skin’ type at 40.1%, followed by ‘Sufficient Moisture Oily Skin’ and ‘Moisture Deficient Dry Skin’ at 25.2% and 11.3%, respectively. Additionally, sensitive skin types accounted for 15.9% of the total.
Yoon Jungha, CEO of Jamface, said, “Many users who tried Cosmetics Matching reported satisfaction after purchasing and using products with good matching results. Based on Cosmetics Matching, we will expand benefits unique to Jamface, such as collaboration with brands preferred by the MZ generation and matching discount events.”
