Daejeon City Invests 9.4 Billion Won in Resident Projects in Greenbelt Areas

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City will invest 9.4 billion KRW in support projects for residents in the development-restricted zones to improve their living convenience and welfare.

According to the city on the 13th, the development-restricted zone resident support projects are promoted under the premise of enhancing the living convenience and welfare of residents marginalized by strict regulations.

This year, the city will implement 12 resident improvement projects, including five living convenience projects such as road construction, one living park project, four environmental and cultural projects, and two old house renovation projects.

The project receiving the largest budget is the Bangdong waterfront leisure green space creation project, for which the city plans to invest 1.8 billion KRW to develop a scenic theme forest and parking lots.

The city plans to hold a meeting with autonomous district project managers on the 18th of this month to finalize the schedule for this year’s project implementation and proceed with related projects promptly.

Meanwhile, last year, the city carried out 16 resident support projects, including road expansion between Cheongbyeoksan Park Intersection and Expo Apartments, with a budget of 8.2 billion KRW.

Additionally, the ‘Jangdong Workshop Joint Workspace Creation Project’ promoted in Daedeok-gu was selected as an excellent case of development-restricted zone resident support projects by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport last year, receiving an additional 500 million KRW in national funding.
