[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Yeo Seung-joo, CEO of Hanwha Life Insurance, emphasized disruptive innovation while having candid conversations with new employees.
On the 12th, at the Hanwha Life training center ‘Life Park’ in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, during a CEO talk concert for new employees, CEO Yeo said, "Only those who dream and take initiative can lead change," and urged, "I hope you stay ahead of the times through thorough preparation and ‘disruptive innovation.’"
During the 90-minute conversation with new employees, she emphasized three points: 'always think differently,' 'enjoy your work,' and 'dream of becoming a CEO,' calling for a ‘paradigm shift’ and ‘disruptive innovation.’ CEO Yeo stated, "The financial industry has relatively higher potential for innovation compared to other sectors, so with thorough preparation, there is ample opportunity to stay ahead of competitors," adding, "I hope you operate with an achievement mindset rather than an avoidance mindset that focuses on the possibility of failure."
She also stressed the importance of ‘dreams.’ Having joined as an entry-level employee in 1985 and rising to president, CEO Yeo said, "People who dream of becoming a CEO have a different mindset and execution speed, are curious about every aspect of the company, and do not neglect anything," and encouraged, "No matter which organization you belong to, I hope you dream of becoming a CEO."
Meanwhile, the talk concert was held not on a stage but at the closest possible distance to align with the new employees’ level and encourage candid dialogue. CEO Yeo and the employees exchanged questions and answers without fixed topics or formats. New employees asked questions such as ‘How to be a well-liked new employee,’ ‘The president’s investment know-how,’ ‘Morning routine,’ and ‘The president’s MBTI.’
