[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Celltrion Group announced on the 12th that it conducted a 'Seol Sharing Activity' for two days on the 11th and 12th to support underprivileged groups in the Incheon and Chungbuk regions in celebration of the Lunar New Year, marking its first social contribution activity of 2023.
About 50 Celltrion Group employees participated in this sharing event, personally packing Seol gift boxes worth a total of 30 million KRW, consisting of seasonal Seol food products, and delivered them to 395 underprivileged households in the Incheon and Chungbuk areas where Celltrion Group's major business sites are located, as well as to a free meal service center in Seo-gu, Incheon.
The Celltrion Welfare Foundation, which is in charge of the group's sponsorship and support projects, has been conducting Seol sharing activities since 2009 to provide practical help to vulnerable groups facing difficult circumstances during the holidays and to foster a social culture of sharing interest and warmth with neighbors in need. In the past five years, gift sets have been delivered to 2,000 households.
In addition to the Seol sharing event, Celltrion Group continuously carries out various social contribution activities through support such as ▲side dish and livelihood assistance ▲medical expense support ▲scholarship support ▲seasonal sharing support. Especially this year, the company plans to fulfill its social responsibility by increasing scholarship support for low-income middle and high school students and university students under probation who need economic assistance and are in blind spots.
A representative of the Celltrion Welfare Foundation said, “We prepared gift sets with seasonal Seol food products to deliver warmth to underprivileged groups who are having a hard time due to soaring prices ahead of Seol,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that more diverse customized support can be provided to places in need this year as well.”
