[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] CentralMotec is showing strong performance. The news that American electric vehicle company Tesla plans to invest $775 million (approximately 960 billion KRW) in its Texas factory has drawn attention to CentralMotec’s exclusive supply of aluminum control arms.
As of 9:16 AM on the 12th, CentralMotec is trading at 14,500 KRW, up 5.84% from the previous day.
According to foreign media reports the day before, Tesla plans to invest $775 million (approximately 960 billion KRW) to expand a total of four new facilities, including a battery manufacturing research center, at its Austin factory in Texas, USA. The expansion project is scheduled to be completed by February next year.
The Tesla Austin factory is equipped with facilities capable of producing 250,000 units annually. Starting this year, Tesla also plans to begin production of its new pickup truck model, the Cybertruck. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has mentioned a goal of selling 250,000 Cybertrucks annually.
Meanwhile, CentralMotec is attracting expectations as it exclusively supplies aluminum control arms to Tesla. The aluminum control arm, developed independently by CentralMotec, is a component that connects the car body and the wheels.
