[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will hold the ‘Suyoung River Human Bridge Construction Groundbreaking Ceremony’ at 3 p.m. on the 13th at the Suyoung Riverside Deck Plaza.


About 300 people, including Mayor Park Hyung-jun, members of the National Assembly, district mayors, city council members, district council members, and local residents, will attend the groundbreaking ceremony, which will proceed in the order of ▲ progress report ▲ commemorative speech ▲ congratulatory speech ▲ commemorative ceremony.


The ‘Suyoung River Human Bridge’ is a pedestrian bridge with a length of 214m and a width of 7 to 18m, allowing bicycle use, connecting Haeundae-gu’s Busan Cinema Center and the residential area of Suyeong-gu. The local companies Seongrim General Construction Co., Ltd. and Geobo Construction Co., Ltd. are in charge of construction, aiming for completion by 2025.


Together with the ‘Hwamyung Ecological Park Connecting Pedestrian Bridge’ (Geumbit Noeul Bridge, Gamdong Narutgil Riverwalk) and the ‘Samnak Ecological Park Connecting Pedestrian Bridge’ (Sasang Smart City Pedestrian Bridge, Daecho Bridge Underpass Pedestrian Bridge), it will serve as a landmark pedestrian bridge to realize a 15-minute city centered on walking. It connects the Busan Museum of Art, Busan Cinema Center, APEC Naru Park with Suyeong Paldo Market, Suyeong Historic Park, Beacon Ground, and F1963, and is expected to contribute to the activation of pedestrian tourism.


Mayor Park Hyung-jun of Busan said, “Once the Suyoung River Human Bridge is completed, it will create a waterfront cultural space and greatly contribute to the activation of pedestrian tourism,” adding, “We will do our best to establish it as a landmark pedestrian bridge representing Busan.”
