Dedicated Counter Provided for Issuance of Five Types of Certificates
[Asia Economy Reporter Seong Giho] It will become possible to conveniently issue five types of certificates, including the resident registration certificate, necessary for the 2022 year-end tax settlement through the dedicated Government24 portal.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety (Minister Lee Sang-min) announced on the 12th that, in line with the 2022 year-end tax settlement service schedule, the "Year-end Tax Settlement Certificate Issuance Service" will be provided on the Government24 website from tomorrow until January 31.
Accordingly, through the "Government24 Year-end Tax Settlement Certificate Issuance Service," a total of five types of certificates can be conveniently issued: resident registration certificate, basic livelihood security recipient certificate, foreigner registration certificate, disability certificate, and university enrollment certificate.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to minimize system overload on Government24 caused by a surge in users during the year-end tax settlement period by applying a queue waiting function and ensuring service convenience through a direct link function to search sites. The direct link function connects users immediately to the dedicated "Government24 Year-end Tax Settlement Certificate Issuance Service" portal when they search for the five services on popular sites such as Naver and Daum.
Issuance of year-end tax settlement certificates can be accessed by Government24 members through login using a joint/financial certificate, simple authentication, or mobile ID. Additionally, non-members can use the issuance service by entering personal information such as their name and completing identity verification via joint certificate or simple authentication.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety emphasized that certificate issuance through Government24 is provided free of charge*, but warned that similar private civil service agency sites charge fees for certificate issuance services.
Hong Jongwan, Head of the Administrative Service Integration Promotion Team at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, stated, “We have prepared so that citizens who need to complete year-end tax settlement through Government24 can use it more conveniently,” and added, “We will continue to strive to ensure the stability of digital government services and to implement a digital platform government that provides services closely related to citizens’ daily lives.”
