Strengthening the Role as Marketing Spaces and Showcase Stages for Domestic and International ICT Companies
The '2023 World IT Show (WIS 2023)', the largest information and communication technology (ICT) exhibition in Korea, is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by six institutions including the Korea International Trade Association and the Korea Information and Communication Promotion Association. It will be held for three days from Wednesday, April 19 to Friday, April 21 at COEX in Seoul.
Under the theme of ‘Innovation for Tomorrow,’ this exhibition will showcase and introduce a wide range of technologies and new products in high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, extended reality (XR), as well as convergence areas like autonomous driving, smart homes, digital health, robotics, and mobility, along with software security. Meanwhile, the concurrently held event, the '2023 ICT Technology Commercialization Festival,' will also take place alongside the main exhibition, adding to the event’s vibrancy.
This year’s exhibition, in line with the government’s digital innovation (digitalization) strategy, will respond to the digitalization demands across all industrial sectors by presenting the latest technologies and products in △ AI, IoT, and other ICT Convergence △ Digital Twin & Metaverse △ Smart Living and Healthcare △ Robotics △ Autonomous Driving and UAM (Urban Air Mobility) under Intelligent Mobility △ Blockchain and security fields. Participants include global ICT companies, major telecommunications firms, as well as medium-sized and small enterprises and startups with innovative technologies. Public research and development institutions and technology commercialization support organizations in the ICT and software convergence sectors will also participate to share their achievements and build networks with demand companies.
Side events include the ‘Global ICT Trend Insight Conference,’ which shares next-generation ICT key technologies and trends such as AI, XR and Metaverse, autonomous driving, and IT connectivity, and the ‘Global Big Buyer Export Consultation Meeting,’ which facilitates practical business outcomes through pre-matching between major ICT buyers and participating companies.
Additionally, the ‘WIS 2023 New Technology and New Product Presentation’ will be held, allowing participating companies to showcase their latest technologies and new products. Award ceremonies such as the ‘WIS Innovation Award’ and the ‘Korea ImpaCT-ech Grand Prize,’ which recognize the technological innovation of participating companies, will also take place on-site, providing marketing opportunities for the award-winning companies.
The organizer of the event, now in its 15th year, stated, “This event is the largest ICT event in Korea where you can encounter the latest technologies in the ICT sector, which has steadfastly supported the creation of added value and export competitiveness of our economy despite fluctuations in domestic and international economic conditions.” They added, “We hope that many companies participating in the ‘2023 World IT Show,’ including small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, will use this event as a space for product marketing, and furthermore, that it will be an optimal opportunity to build diverse business networks among participating companies and institutions.” For more detailed information such as company participation, please visit the official website of the 2023 World IT Show.
