Increased Project Funds by Village... Total Support of 15 Billion Won with 5 Million Won Each
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced on the 11th that it will expand the Clean Jeonnam Eutteum Village Creation Project by adding 1,000 villages this year, bringing the total to 3,000 villages.
The province will actively promote the Clean Jeonnam Eutteum Village Creation Project this year by supporting 15 billion KRW to manage and preserve village clean resources through resident participation, aiming to lead happy changes.
The Clean Jeonnam Eutteum Village Creation Project is a special policy pursued only in Jeonnam under the special interest of Governor Kim Young-rok. It focuses on resident harmony and the restoration of village community spirit.
This year, in addition to the 2,000 villages already selected, 1,000 new villages will be added, and specialized projects such as awareness transformation, environmental cleanup, and landscape improvement will be promoted in a total of 3,000 Eutteum Villages.
Especially, unlike last year, from this year, the project budget per village will be increased by 2 million KRW to 5 million KRW, and to increase participation and discover excellent cases, the number of outstanding Eutteum Villages will be expanded and selected to 100 locations, with awards and excellent village plaques provided.
Villages wishing to apply for project support can apply to the Eutteum Village department of their city, county, or eup/myeon by the 27th of this month.
Seo Hyung-bin, Director of the Autonomous Administration Division of Jeonnam Province, said, “With the active participation and communication of residents last year, the community spirit of over 2,000 villages was raised, increasing a sense of belonging and pride. This year, with the expanded project budget, various village creations desired by residents will be possible, so we will spare no support to ensure that small changes in villages lead to big changes in Jeonnam.”
Jeonnam Province aims to create a total of 3,000 Eutteum Villages from 2021 to 2025, supporting 5 million KRW per village annually for three years, totaling 15 million KRW, and plans to improve completeness by collecting opinions from experts and villagers and analyzing project performance in the future.
