Daksah Holds First Policy Symposium Since Inception... Discussing Current Status and Challenges of Self-Regulation

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Digital Asset Exchange Joint Council (DAXA) announced on the 11th that it will hold a policy symposium jointly with the Korean Economic Law Association. DAXA is a self-regulatory organization launched in June last year with the participation of five major virtual asset exchanges?Gopax, Bithumb, Upbit, Korbit, and Coinone?to promote healthy industry development and establish investor protection measures.


Experts in digital asset regulation, policy, and law will participate in the keynote presentations and discussions, with Professor Lee Han-sang of Korea University Business School serving as the chair. The first presentation will be delivered by Kim Jae-jin, Secretary General of DAXA, on the topic of "Current Status of Self-Regulation in Digital Asset Exchanges," followed by Ahn Soo-hyun, President of the Korean Economic Law Association, who will present on "Issues and Tasks of Digital Asset Self-Regulation." The third presentation will be given by Han Seo-hee, a lawyer at Barun Law LLC, on the theme "Direction of Digital Asset Disclosure Regulation."


The comprehensive discussion will proceed in the order of Kang Hyun-jung, lawyer at Kim & Chang Law Office; Kim Gap-rae, senior researcher at the Korea Capital Market Institute; Yoon Jong-soo, lawyer at Kwangjang Law LLC; and Ahn Byung-nam, team leader of the Digital Financial Innovation Bureau at the Financial Supervisory Service.


DAXA stated, "This policy symposium, the first hosted since the launch of the council, will be a meaningful occasion to discuss the current status and challenges of self-regulation," and added, "We hope it will serve as a forum to collectively consider the proper direction of self-regulation for the healthy development of the digital asset ecosystem and investor protection."
