Invitation Revealing the Schedule for Unpack 2023 on the 11th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Samsung Electronics will hold 'Galaxy Unpacked 2023' at 10 a.m. on the 1st of next month (3 a.m. on the 2nd, Korean time) in San Francisco, USA, and unveil the new flagship smartphone Galaxy S23 series.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 11th that it has sent invitations for the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 schedule to global media and partners. This Unpacked event is the first in-person event in three years. Samsung will also livestream the event online.
The top-tier model, 'Ultra,' will come in green, the 'Plus (+)' in pink, and the base model is likely to be available in light gold and pink gold.
Looking at the specifications, the application processor (AP), known as the 'brain of the smartphone,' is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm's latest AP, the 'Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.' There are also reports that some models will concurrently use Samsung's own AP, the 'Exynos 2300.' In the Galaxy S22 series released earlier this year, it is known that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos were equipped at about an 8:2 ratio. The S23 Ultra model is also expected to feature Samsung's currently developing 200-megapixel smartphone camera, an improvement over the previous Galaxy S22 Ultra (108-megapixel). The battery is also reported to be improved compared to its predecessor.
The price is expected to remain similar to the previous model. Samsung Electronics sold the Galaxy S22 at $799, Galaxy S22+ at $999, and Galaxy S22 Ultra at $1,199. Initially, the IT industry widely expected Samsung to raise the price of the S23 due to the increase in the average price of mobile APs. Although a price increase was necessary, it became difficult to adjust prices as Apple froze the US price when launching the iPhone 14.
Samsung stated, "We hope you will experience a new era of Galaxy innovation."
