According to the Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters (Chief Choi Mincheol) on the 10th, a total of 661,878 119 calls were received in Jeonbuk last year.
This is an increase of 58,231 calls (9.6%) compared to the previous year (2021), which had 603,647 calls.
This means an average of 1,813 calls per day, an increase of 159 calls compared to the 1,654 average calls in 2021.
On-site dispatches such as fire, rescue, emergency medical services, and civil complaints accounted for 270,656 calls, which is 43.7% of the total calls.
Specifically, there were 14,839 fire calls, 37,393 rescue calls, 125,091 emergency medical calls, and 93,783 civil dispatch calls. Other services such as medical guidance and civil consultations accounted for 204,820 calls, or 30.3% of the total.
The region with the highest number of 119 calls was Jeonju City, with a total of 130,364 calls.
Following were Iksan with 67,920 calls and Gunsan with 65,600 calls. Among county-level areas, Wanju recorded 35,922 calls, Gochang 21,539 calls, and Buan 18,116 calls.
Meanwhile, the Emergency Medical Situation Management Center provided 68,112 cases of emergency treatment and medical consultations to improve cardiac arrest survival rates and provide various information and disease consultations related to emergency medical care.
Hospital guidance accounted for 26,683 cases, emergency treatment guidance 22,696 cases, disease consultations 7,214 cases, and pharmacy guidance 4,395 cases, marking a 17% increase compared to 58,233 cases the previous year.
Emergency treatment guidance included encouraging callers to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from the reporting stage to increase the survival rate of patients who suddenly experienced cardiac arrest.
Choi Mincheol, Chief of Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters, said, “The statistical analysis of 119 call reception serves as a compass that guides the direction of a scientific and systematic 119 call response system. Based on the data, we will closely analyze the 119 call details to prepare countermeasures, and furthermore, we will integrate geographic information systems such as highway information and advance intelligent voice recognition systems to do our best to protect the precious lives and property of the residents.”
